Mr. Langenberg specializes in the representation of foreign clients in the technology and media space, providing counsel in connection with their investments in the United States and advising their affiliated companies in the U.S. on diverse business and commercial law matters. These include patent, computer software and trademark licensing, protection of intellectual property and trade secrets, and product distribution. Recent representative matters include:
- Negotiation and drafting of distribution, license and OEM agreements
- Advice and counsel in connection with investment in patent portfolio and distribution rights for proprietary products exploiting such portfolio
- Joint venture transactions, including formation of corporate or limited liability entities, for foreign investments in a software development company
- Strategic advice to U.S. subsidiaries of Japanese electronics companies in connection with product warranty policy and protocol, distribution structure, contracts, and IP rights
- Establishment of trade secrets protection programs.
